Autism Spectrum Disorder is a developmental disorder, which according to the Centers for Disease Control, is due to brain differences. Because autism is a spectrum disorder, it can be characterized by unique behaviors in each child. Children with autism may have challenges that range from speech and other communication issues to the ways they learn or interact with others. Alternatively, children with autism may exhibit a range of strengths in these same behaviors.

Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) is a therapy which, founded on the science of learning and behavior, aims to improve a client's communication skills, attention, social skills, focus and academics while decreasing interfering behaviors that effect their daily lives. ABA therapy can be conducted at home or in a clinic or community setting and teaches many skills that are used by clients in their everyday lives. The unique needs of each cient are considered when developing a plan of care.
